TECHNICAL INSTITUTIONS
Finished Project

Ghana YMCA has three Technical institutions. The first technical school established in Accra is the YMCA Technical Training Centre where young boys are trained in carpentry, joinery, Masonry and architectural draughtmanship.

The other vocational training centre is for young girls and it gives training in dressmaking home economics and Catering. Training is also given in the making of Batik tye and dye, a beautiful local Ghanaian clothe.

The third school is in Apedwa, the Eastern Region where training is in masonry, carpentry and electrical installation.

The quality of the students who graduate from these schools can be proven by the number of contract works awarded to the school. This includes carpentry works at the Osu Castle, during the renovation of the seat of government in the year 2001 as well as the renovation of a number of church facilities in Accra.
