REPORT OF THE 8TH GREATER ACCRA YMCA REGIONAL ANNUAL BIBLE QUIZ COMPETITION HELD AT THE REGIONAL HALL, ACCRA ON THE 2ND AUGUST 2008

OPENING

The programme which brought together 44 members and officials was declared opened at 10.45am. The opening prayer was said by Sister Monica Habiah, followed by introduction of branches and officials.



WELCOME ADDRESS

The Regional Chairman, Mr. Charles Habiah welcomed all the members and participants. He expressed his appreciation to them for making time off their various schedules for the programme.

BALLOTING

The balloting for seating positions came in this order:- Mamprobi, Tema, Prampram, Sakaman, Bawaleshie and Accra Central


COMPETITION RESULTS

The contestants from the six branches went through four keenly contested rounds. The following were the results as recorded at the end of the fourth round:-

1. Tema - 58 - 3rd
2. Mamprobi - 51 - 5th
3. Accra Central - 69 - 1st
4. Sakaman - 62 - 2nd
5. Madina - - - -
6. Bawaleshie - 57 - 4th
7. Prampram - 23 - 6th


WINNERS/AWARD

At the end of the fourth round, Accra Central YMCA was declared the winner with 69 points followed by Sakaman with 62 points and Tema with 58 points.
Presentation of awards was deferred to Saturday August 9, 2008 the same day on which the Regional Games will be held at Kpone Bawaleshie.

CLOSING

Before the closing prayer at 1.20pm, the Regional Chairman expressed his gratitude to the house and congratulated the winners and all other contestants for their excellent performance. The closing prayer was said by Bro. Ernest Amoah.
