Over the weekend, the people of Kpone-Bawaleshie throng the Presby Primary School Park in their numbers to witness the just ended Greater Accra YMCA’s Regional games which brought together various teams and fans from Mamprobi, Accra Central, Sakaman, Tema, Prampram, Madina and Kpone-Bawaleshie YMCAs. The event aimed at sharing fellowship and fun, whilst creating entertainment to the host community and developing among members the spirit of healthy sportsmanship.
The disciplines competed for were in Soccer, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Playing Cards and Sack-Race. Other activities included Ludo, Skipping Rope, Draughts, Oware and Tug-of-War.
The game was partly supported by the MP of Kpone-Katamanso, Hon. Nii Afotey-Agbo. The special guest of Honour was Nene Nartey Kanor II, Kpone-Bawaleshie Mantse. He cautioned the youth on the ills of the society today and urged them to take organizations like YMCA very seriously where they can spend their time on worthy courses.
