Minneapolis YMCA Immersion Program JANUARY, 2007
The Ghana YMCA hosted 12 students and board members from the Minneapolis YMCA USA in Ghana for an immersion program from 2nd – 11th January 2007.
Minneapolis YMCA Immersion Program
The Ghana YMCA hosted 12 students and board members from the Minneapolis YMCA USA in Ghana for an immersion program from 2nd – 11th January 2007. The study program had the students taking part in activities that covered topics on HIV and AIDS, leadership skills, business enterprises and visits to historical and cultural sites in Ghana.
This is the second time Ghana YMCA has hosted a group on study tour from the Minneapolis YMCA and currently discussions are on going to make it an annual affair as well as promote cultural exchange between the two YMCAs.
Country Focus Group Meeting – GOP
The third Country Focus group meeting of GOP was held in Accra from 10th – 14th January 2007 and partners that attended the meeting included, Minneapolis YMCA USA, CVJM Germany, YMCA of Greater Toronto Canada, Western Zone YMCAs, and Africa Alliance of YMCAs.
The road map of June 2006 was reviewed and a new one drawn. The focus of this road map was to see to the completion of the Strategic Plan, developing a Succession plan, formation of Resource Mobilization Committee, deciding on a consultant to undertake Staff Audit for the Ghana YMCA, review of a number of policies including the Ghana YMCA constitution as well as Finance and Personnel Policy.
A new policy on ICT & Communication was to be drafted and accepted for inclusion in the stream
