COCOAIDS - GHANA
Ghana YMCA is in collaboration with five other youth based Non Governmental Organizations in the fight against HIV/AIDS in Ghana.
This collaboration is termed Coordinating Committee to Combat HIV/AIDS (COCOAIDS ? Ghana). The other organizations are Ghana YMCA is in collaboration with five other youth based Non Governmental Organizations in the fight against HIV/AIDS in Ghana. This collaboration is termed Coordinating Committee to Combat HIV/AIDS (COCOAIDS ? Ghana).
The other organizations are Ghana Girl Guides Association, Ghana Scout Association, Ghana Red Cross Society, YWCA and Head of State Award Scheme ? Ghana.
Currently, COCOAIDS ? Ghana has received funding from USAID through the International Youth Foundation based in Washington, USA and has implemented a joint program on HIV/AIDS project in the Volta Region of Ghana.
As a follow ? up to this project, all the six organizations forming COCOAIDS have received funds to sustain the program in their various Associations. This is currently on ? going. A delegation of 10 young people representing the six organizations of COCOAIDS ? Ghana attended an international conference on HIV/AIDS in Senegal in March 2004.
They were privileged to be hosted by the President of Senegal together with the other delegates from over 40 African countries at his Presidential Palace
