 GHANA YMCA HOLDS 9TH AFRICA YOUTH SUMMIT (OGM)
    The National Council of Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) is to host a Partnership Conference, African Youth Summit and the 9th Ordinary General Meeting (OGM) of the African Alliance of YMCAs in Accra, from the 2nd to 9th May 2010.
The International Events are expected to bring together over One Hundred and fifty (150) participants from across YMCA Movements in Africa and representatives from the YMCAs of USA, UK, Germany, Canada, Asia and Latin America Confederation. In attendance at the eight (8) day event will be the Secretary - General of the World Alliance of YMCAs as well as the President and General Secretary of the African Alliance of YMCAs.

The eight (8) day program with the theme “Empowering Young People for the African Renaissance” will focus on developing the civic competence of young people in Africa with the view to reversing the current paradigm where the Youth in Africa is seen and used as a Subject rather than a Citizen.

The Minister for Youth & Sports (Hon. Akua Sena Dansua), the Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church (Most Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Asante), the Minister for Employment and Social Welfare (Hon. E. T. Mensah) and the Mayor of the Accra Metropolis (Hon. Dr. Alfred Vanderpuiye) are expected to grace the occasion.

The eight (8) day event will take place at the Ramada Hotel formerly New Coco- Beach Hotel off the Teshie- Nungua road.
