Youth related agencies need greater attention 
Prince Agbedzigbe, President of the Volta Regional Council of the YMCAs Thursday urged government to raise issues of youth development up the scale of national priorities. The National Youth Authority (NYA) and the Department of Social Welfare need more resources and attention than what they have been getting so far, he observed.

Young people deserve quality health care; A call for positive action 
Young people are faced with numerous questions about their health and well-being including how to access health services, lower the incidence of teen pregnancy through reproductive and sexual health education, and discourage the use of alcohol, tobacco, and drugs, among others. As behaviours that begin in their adolescence can shape their future, life skills planning has also become a challenge for young people’s health and well-being.

A STATEMENT BY MR. KWABENA NKETIA ADDAE, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE GHANA YMCA ON INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY, AUGUST 2014 
On the occasion of this year’s International Youth Day, Ghana YMCA will want to add its voice to the need for all especially governments around the world to take a critical look at the issue of youth development and empowerment, with particular reference to youth unemployment and entrepreneurial training. “Youth in Entrepreneurship: Overcoming Unemployment”, the theme for our Annual Youth Conference for 2014 held in Kumasi from 7th – 10th August, 2014 cannot therefore be overemphasized.
